Benefits
  • Indicated for the treatment of pituitary-dependent and adrenal-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's disease and syndrome) in dogs
  • Blocks the excessive production of cortisol by reversibly inhibiting the action of the enzyme 3-ß hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase
  • While treatment with trilostane significantly reduces serum cortisol concentrations, it has not been found to reduce aldosterone significantly
Active Ingredients
Trilostane
Usage
Vetoryl® should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Best if given with food.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.
Efectos secundarios:
Side effects may include lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice any of these side effects, or anything unusual, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with trilostane: benazepril, enalapril, ketoconazole, potassium supplements, and spironolactone. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and/or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
