Proin ER™ Tablets are indicated for the control of urinary incontinence due to urethral sphincter hypotonus in dogs in a convenient extended release tablets for once a day dosing.
*Proin ER™ is a controlled substance medication in the following states: AR, IA, LA, MS, WV. All electronically prescribed orders shipping to these states will require secondary verbal or fax authorization with the prescriber prior to dispensing.

Usage
Proin ER™ should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Proin ER™ should be administered with food. Tablets should not be split or crushed.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Efectos secundarios:
Your pet may experience vomiting, body weight loss, diarrhea, a loss of appetite, restlessness, irritability, tremors, fast heart rate, high blood pressure and urine retention. If these symptoms appear excessive or persist, contact your veterinarian. If your pet becomes nauseous, loses its appetite, vomits, has a fast heart rate, appears disoriented and the pupils dilate, contact your veterinarian.
Other side effects may occur, if you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with phenylpropanolamine: tricyclic antidepressants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, halogenated anesthetic agents, ephedrine, chlorpromazine, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, reserpine, and ganglionic blocking agents. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Cautions
Do not split or crush tablets. For use in dogs only. Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children and pets. The safe use of Proin ER™ in dogs used for breeding purposes, during pregnancy or in lactating bitches, has not been evaluated. Proin ER™ may cause elevated blood pressure and should be used with caution in dogs with pre-existing heart disease, high blood pressure, liver disease, kidney insufficiency, diabetes, glaucoma, and other conditions associated with high blood pressure.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at 68°F to 77°F in controlled room temperature, excursions permitted between 59°F to 104°F. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
