Usage
Nexgard® Combo Topical solution should be applied as directed by your veterinarian. This medication should be administered at 30 day intervals year-round to guarantee protection from heartworm and fleas and ticks. For heartworm disease, apply once monthly for at least 3 months after last exposure to mosquitoes. For cats over 16.5 lbs, use the appropriate combination of tubes.
Keep product in original packaging until ready to use. Use scissors to cut the blister along the dotted line and pull away lid. Remove the applicator from the pack and hold upright and pull back the plunger slightly. Twist and pull off the cap. Part the hair on the midline of the neck, between the base of the skull and the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the applicator on the skin and apply the entire contents directly onto the skin in one spot. The product should be applied to dry skin on an area where the cat cannot lick it off. If the weight of the cat requires a second application, apply the contents in the same manner as described above in the same location.
Do not contact or allow children to contact the application site for 4 hours after application or until visibly dry. Wash hands and contacted skin thoroughly with soap and water immediately after application.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as you remember, unless it is time for the next dose. Do not apply two doses at one time or double dose. If your cat has missed a dose, please consult your veterinarian.
Efectos secundarios:
Nexgard® Combo Topical solution is generally well tolerated in cats when given at the usual dose. There are very few side effects when the drug is given a the usual dose. The following side effects have been reported with the use of Nexgard® Combo Topical solution: vomiting, application site hair changes, anorexia, lethargy, itching, sneezing, bacterial skin infection, diarrhea, hypersalivation, hyperthermia, and application site redness.
Use with caution in cats with a history of seizures.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
There are no documented drug interactions with this medication. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Cautions
Use with caution in cats with a history of seizures. Use with caution in cats that are heartworm positive. The safety of Nexgard® Combo Topical solution has not been established in breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats. The safety of Nexgard® Combo Topical solution has not been tested in kittens less than 8 weeks of age or weighing less than 1.8 lbs. The effectiveness of Nexgard® Combo Topical solution to prevent heartworm disease after bathing or water immersion has not been evaluated.
For topical use only. Avoid oral ingestion. Avoid contact with eyes.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store long term at 59°F to 86° F. Short-term exposure up to 104°F is permitted. Store in original packaging to protect from light. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
